Medan in North Sumatra
is one of the most ancient cultures dating back to prehistoric times

noted for its ritual stone jumping and ancient traditional houses;

famous for the houses of its tribal chiefs; Lake Toba, one of the
largest and highest inland lakes in the world; the 300 sq miles
Samosir island with its megaliths and 300 years old stone seats in
the middle of the Lake Toba; Bawomataluo village,400 meters above
sea level and accessible by 480 stone steps and the Grand Mosque in
Medan.
